  • Staff development and professional growth

  • Strengthening trauma-informed practices

  • Enhancing current youth mental health systems

  • Providing clinical consultation when appropriate.

Our Approach to Consultation

Consultation at EFC‑T is both collaborative and strategic.

We begin by gaining a clear understanding of your goals, current systems, and the unique context in which you are working. From there, we partner with you to identify meaningful next steps—balancing thoughtful reflection with practical, actionable strategies.

This work is grounded in:

  • Encouragement, strengths-based, solution focused development

  • Real-world clinical and program experience

  • A focus on sustainability, not just short-term solutions

Rather than offering one-size-fits-all recommendations, consultation is designed to help you build solutions that fit your team, your environment, and the populations you serve.

What You Can Expect

Consultation is a space that balances support with forward movement.

You can expect a process that is thoughtful, engaging, and grounded in real-world application—where challenges are explored openly and solutions are developed collaboratively.

The goal is for you and your team to leave consultation feeling more clear, more equipped, and confident in the foundation you are building to support your work moving forward.

Consultation Project Spotlight:

Developing a Play Therapy Program at a Northern Colorado Non-profit

Testimonial

“Dr. Roper made a meaningful and lasting impact on our clinical services… He brought a high level of clinical expertise, intentionality, and professionalism while remaining collaborative and responsive to our organizational needs.”

- Wendy Lee, Executive Director

Overview

Supported a local nonprofit in expanding services for children ages 3–10 by developing a comprehensive play therapy program. This included designing a strategic implementation plan, selecting developmentally appropriate materials aligned with both clinical needs and budget constraints, and leading the design and build-out of a dedicated play therapy space.

Consultation also included supporting organizational growth through grant development, staff hiring processes, and strengthening child-focused assessment practices.

  • Grant that EFC-T helped to develop was successful and lead to the complete funding of the play therapy program!

Consultation was designed to create meaningful and lasting impact on clinical services and organizational capacity.
